Indian Council for Cultural Relations (I.C.C.R) Scholarships

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) is an autonomous organization of the Government of India, involved in India’s external cultural relations, through cultural exchange with other countries and their peoples. Its objectives are to actively participate in the formulation and implementation of policies and programmes pertaining to India’s external cultural relations.  For the Academic year 2024-25, ICCR has announced (i) scholarship slots globally under Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Commonwealth Scholarship Scheme (A1203) (ii) Scholarship Slots under Atal Bihari Vajpayee General Scholarship Scheme (A1201) for 122 countries.  2 Slot each has been allocated to Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras respectively under this Scheme.  Both Scholarship Schemes are awarded at undergraduate/postgraduate levels and for pursuing research.

The applications from the interested international students for the academic year 2024-25 will be invited online through ICCR’s A2A Scholarship portal http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in which will be operational from February 20, 2023. It may be noted that the language of instructions in India is English, the applicants need to be fluent in the language. Also, a ‘Timeline for the admission process’ has been set which is given below:

Opening of Portal for inviting applications from interested candidates

31 May, 2024

Last date for application to submit application on portal

30 June, 2024

Last date by which Universities are to inform the decision whether the student is admitted or rejected (if confirmed, intimation to Mission.  If rejected, intimation to students)

15 July, 2024

Last date for Indian Mission abroad to decide on allocation of Scholarship and generating Offer Letters

25 July, 2024

Last date for students to confirm/reject acceptance of offer of scholarship

10 August, 2024

Based on the number of acceptances in the first round (if acceptances are less than the scholarship seats allocated) Indian Mission to offer Scholarship to other students who were not considered in the first round.

20 August, 2024

Second-round students to convey their acceptances.

The entire online application process has been streamlined and coordinated through A2A Portal with Embassy of India, Guatemala City, eligible Universities/institutes and ICCR Zonal/Sub-Zonal Offices. The final list of Universities/Institutes will be reflected in the A2A portal when opened.  The last date of submission of application by students is May 31, 2024.
